Excessive talk @ internet service charges.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I've only had talk and Internet service with consumers cellular for a few months, cancelled 10/22/21. I have a tablet for Internet service. I tried to use my consumer cellular as little as possible. Avoided being put on hold and any kind of excessive use. It seems to me that consumers cellular was no being honest, the bumped up my usage plan from $30 to$50 too often. On their web site they offer to refunded my cost of phone. Provide return label.I've tried to reach them about this offer. Used their call back service. When they called back I was left hanging on line about10 minutes and was never connected to a service representative. So I'm not able to use thier offer to be refunded mobile Phone

They are complete ripoff artists. They told me to send the phone back and I did.

They declined to give me a refund as they said the phone had deep scratches on it. Pure BS. Phone was in excellent condition but this is their way of ripping off a senior citizen.

They are a totally dishonest company and should be ashamed of themselves. This is once again a case of a big guy against a little guy and their bullying!!!!

Outrageously overcharged for service not used

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I went to Europe for 6 weeks. Before I went, I called Consumer Cellular, twice, for advice on emergency service there. I was recommended international roaming, &;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; assured that I had nothing to loose if I did not use it, no charges would occur. I never placed a call, received any, or texted. Three weeks into my stay, I got an email from CC that they were shutting my service , because, unbeknownst to me, the charges were already at almost $400, &, because I have auto payment, already cashed. I called them yesterday, upon my return, to talk to 2 supervisors, one gave me hope that they would work with me, the other one had no empathy & said that it would be a lesson to me, not to register for international roaming

I wanted to switch from my existing cell company to Consumer Cellular because of a savings of $25 a month. I purchased a new phone from Consumer Cellular, and now I'm ready to switch over. Try getting a person on the phone to help you. I'm a senior citizen and should have known better. You usually get what you pay for.

Poor service

I was compelled to buy a new phone that failed to work after 20 calls to Consumer Cellular. They are polite but simply do not know what to do and have insufficient staff. Furthermore, their service is almost non-existent in Pennsylvania.

They have not done anything. They regret we are just too far from their contracted towers to do anything. When we travel and get no service it's because PA is apparently a low priority state and they do not expect to attract customers here.

You people have cut me off.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The same day I paid y bill, I tried to activate my new upgrade phone. Your representative attempted to activate my sim card, cut off my old phone, and did not activate my new one. I have no access on either phone and have no other alternative communication methods, I am extremely angry, frustrated,Don't fall for the upgrade offer,DON'T FALL FOR THE and disappointed. If I have to go buy a "burner" phone It will be even worse, since I am too ill to drive anywhere and the nearest place to do that is 40 miles away. Your representative had my phone number and my email and could have gotten back in touch with me, Terrible service!!

Six months later I no longer have Consumer Cellular. I keep seeing ads for your "less than $20" service.

I had CC for 16 years, always paid more than $20 per month and never had texting capability. Tried to but the texts never went through.

My advice is to not fall for the false advertising! I was ripped off for 16years.

Spam calls

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have T-Mobile and get maybe one or two spam calls a week. My friend has Consumer Cellular and has been getting anywhere from 6 to 30 spams calls PER DAY!!! Obviously Consumer Cellular doesn't protect its customers in the slightest from spammers. Unacceptable.

They fixed the login issue but I'm now looking for another carrier.

Original review Aug 27, 2021
I called them a week ago because their website wouldn't accept my phone number to login. It must be valid as they have billed me for it for many months and have gotten paid. Their service wont allow the sending of photo files to other phones. And yes I pay for data that they wont allow me to use.

Consumer Cellular is not an honest company

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My neighborhood gets great ATandT coverage, lousy T-Mobile coverage. I made sure I would have ATandT when I went to CC and everything was great. Then I bought a new phone through CC, and my reception was lousy. I blamed my wi-fi. I also complained to CC. Then I found out CC had switched my carrier to T-Mobile when I bought the new phone. No one told me. No one asked. The choice of carriers is important. "We make that decision," a snotty rep for CC said when I called. "T-Mobile works great in your area. You never complained, so you must have been happy." He was rude and obnoxious, and he was dead wrong on all counts. I will never trust Consumer Cellular again. I had lousy service because of their arbitrary decision. Several of my neighbors also had problems and discovered their sim cards were switched to another carrier when they purchased a phone from CC. This is just disgusting and I can't wait to get rid of this company and its snotty rep. If you are a CC customer and think you have ATandT service, you better check your sim card. I am now heading to another company.
