My 79 year old husband has had Consumer Cellular for a couple of years without any problems until a couple of months ago. Every time I would call him it would ring 4 or 5 times and then go into his voice mail. SO....we ordered a NEW version of the flip phone he wanted (hole in left macula with decreased vision) and thought this would solve the problem. Well, it didn't!

When we called to order the phone, they could not tell us if it was the service, the phone (after several tweaks), or what the problem was.

The problem is the SAME with the new phone! I can NEVER get him when I am calling to check on him.............and if it wasn't for the Echo Show allowing me to check on him from work......I don't know what I would do.

They swear that their service has NOT changed.... but something certainly has. My VERIZON has NOT changed... no problems there!

Sometimes he cannot call out, so he has an unreliable phone service at this time. He will be 80 in June and I certainly have a right to be concerned about his safety. On top of it all, it takes HOURS to get customer service on the phone.

I am beginning to wonder about AARP's recommendations.

Consumer Cellular is much less reliable than they used to be.

Their Medicare supplemental insurance is MUCH more expensive that others....... so I have to question BOTH!
